Econographics is our technique for making simultaneous comparisons of tangible factors (such as wages) and intangible factors (such as quality of life). The technique is particularly useful for feasibility studies, since it establishes the client’s present location as base (Index 100) and then measures positive and negative differentials at alternative sites. It also allows for weighting of the factors to correspond with the client’s priorities, thereby providing a systematic way to reach a conclusion about project feasibility and make informed decisions among candidate locations.
